Op 30 mei heeft Staatssecretaris Dijksma van Infrastructuur en Milieu (IenM) het evaluatierapport van Royal Haskoning DHV over TPAC (Timber Procurement Assessment Committee) verzonden aan de Tweede Kamer.
De Staatssecretaris schrijft aan de Tweede Kamer dat uit de evaluatie blijkt dat TPAC ‘efficiënt, deskundig, zorgvuldig en onafhankelijk heeft gewerkt en de Nederlandse overheid heeft geholpen om helderheid te bieden over welk hout duurzaam is’.
In 2013 kondigde de Staatssecretaris van IenM aan het duurzaam inkoopbeleid voor hout te zullen evalueren. Samen met schriftelijke vragen van kamerlid Remco Dijkstra in 2015 vormde dit de aanleiding voor de evaluatie van TPAC en het Timber Procurement Assessment System (TPAS) .
TPAC voorzitter mr. Gustaaf Borchardt reageert verheugd: 'Blij te vernemen dat het werk van de commissie op een positieve manier bijdraagt aan de uitvoering van het duurzaam inkoopbeleid voor hout van de Nederlandse overheid. Het is duidelijk dat TPAC’s werk door een brede kring van belanghebbenden wordt gewaardeerd.'

Positive evaluation of TPAC
On May 30th State Secretary of Infrastructure and the Environment (IenM), Ms. Dijksma, has sent the evaluation report about TPAC by Royal Haskoning DHV to the Dutch Parliament.
Ms. Dijksma informed the Dutch Parliament that the evaluation concludes the efficient, knowledgeable, accurate and independent work of TPAC. TPAC contributed to provide clarity for the Dutch Government about the sustainability of timber.
In 2013 the former State Secretary of IenM announced the intention to evaluate the Dutch Timber Procurement Policy. Along with written questions from Remco Dijkstra (member of the Dutch Parliament) in 2015, this induced the evaluation of TPAC and the Timber Procurement Assessment System (TPAS).
TPAC Chair Mr. Gustaaf Borchardt is delighted: “Very pleased to hear that the work of TPAC positively contributed to the implementation of the Dutch Timber Procurement Policy. It is evident that TPAC’s work is appreciated by a broad range of stakeholders”.
